Alexandra Vidal Trullols

BIOGRAPHY:
If life is in the details, then we all need to take a lesson from Alexandra Vidal Trullols. With her new collection Les Délices de Ladurée, she firmly establishes herself as a force in the field of cocktail, evening and ready-to-wear. At just 25, her resume includes
being a finalist on Project Runway in 2004, and representation in top boutiques in her
hometown of Miami and in her current home, Manhattan.

Vidal Trullols has spent the last 2 years working with private clients in anticipation of launching this collection in New York. Discriminating women with impeccable taste, her clients include many whose names regularly appear in the society pages and in fashion magazines. They have sought her out for her individualized creations whose colors, fabrics and details make them stand out.

Les Délices de Ladurée embodies all that the designer strives for: attention to the smallest detail, uncompromising construction, and a sense of playfulness. Inspired in part by the details of the Victorian style of dressing, Vidals Trullols' clothes have a vintage sensibility with a modern touch. She sources fabrics from France and Italy,
using the highest quality taffeta, organza, tulle, chiffon, georgette, crepes, silk faille and silk zibeline. Along with covered buttons, pleating and fabric manipulation of all types are her trademark.

"Ladurée is filled with the most detailed works of art in desserts. The colors, layers, shapes, and decadence moved me to create my collection with these same qualities," says the designer.

Vidal Trullols honed the tools of the trade at the acclaimed Miami Institute of Art and Design (MIAD) where she graduated at the top of her class, receiving the award for "The Best in Fashion Design." She also attended The Paris Fashion Institute. In 2001
she represented the MIAD at the Air France International Young Designers Competition at The Louvre Museum, receiving the highest recognition for an American designer, the award for the Best Design in the United States. Vidal Trullols also won the prestigious Career College Association's "Great Student Award" in Washington D.C. and was honorably selected to show off her Fall 05' collection at the Gen Art Fresh Faces fashion show.
