BIOGRAPHY:

With
her new collection, Alexandra Vidal Trullols firmly establishes
herself as a force
in the field of cocktail, evening and ready-to-wear. At
just twenty-six years old, her resume includes being a
finalist on Project Runway in 2004 and her clothes becoming
favorites of Hollywood’s celebrities,
New York social figures and the character
of
Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girls. Her creations have been
featured in publications from Vogue
to WWD to Town and
Country, among many others.
Precious metals
were the inspiration for this Fall 09 collection. Vidal
Trullols was inspired by the idea of their strength and
longevity. “During this difficult time in the economy,
which has affected all businesses including retail, I
felt compelled to design
my collection around the theme of precious metals which
tend to hold their value and stay around for long periods
of time.” Timelessness is a description apt for
the designer’s pieces. Rather than following trends,
her designs are ones to have forever, to turn to again
and again for the power of their longevity.
Vidal Trullols also has a strong custom design
business. Discriminating women with impeccable taste --
many whose names regularly appear in the society pages
and in fashion magazines -- seek her out for her individualized
creations whose colors, fabrics and details make them
stand out. It is no wonder that Zoey Deschanel
chose an Alexandra Vidal design to wear to the premiere
of her latest film at the Sundance Film Festival, enhancing
her status as the star’s best-dressed of the festival
this year.
Vidal Trullols honed the
tools of the trade at the acclaimed Miami Institute of
Art and Design (MIAD) where she graduated at the top of
her class, receiving the award for "The Best in Fashion
Design." She also attended The Paris Fashion Institute.
In 2001
she represented the MIAD at the Air France International
Young Designers Competition at The Louvre Museum, receiving
the highest recognition for an American designer, the
award for the Best Design in the United States. Vidal
Trullols also won the prestigious Career College Association's
"Great Student Award" in Washington D.C. and
was honorably selected to show off her Fall 05' collection
at the Gen Art Fresh Faces
fashion show. |
